Intermediate Sprint
 In most races comprising individual stages, there are intermediate sprints on the open road during the various parts of the race. The time bonuses or points won here count towards the sprint score with the highest points scorer entitled to wear the corresponding points-related jersey, the most famous of which is the Tour de France’s Green Jersey. The time credits earned from the intermediate sprints generally impact on the given rider’s overall ranking.
