Thomas W. asks Team MILRAM: How do the Team MILRAM riders keep themselves fit in the winter months?
In the winter months, the riders also keep themselves fit by exercising on the bike. Many riders move to the south, to Mallorca or Tuscany. The temperatures there are agreeable for training, also in the cold season. In these regions, there are also training camps at the beginning of the new year, where the whole team is exercising together. And if the weather doesn't admit a training outside, the riders go inside and exercise on the bike simulator.

U. Orschulik from Aukrug asks Team MILRAM:
Andreas Schillinger did a good race in Bamberg Gartenstadt. How does Team MILRAM support these young talents, or how are they integrated into the team?
Andreas Schillinger is part of the MILRAM Continental Team, a team of young talents that operates independently from the professional team. For the furtherance of those young talents, MILRAM introduced an innovative scouting-system, led by Jan Schaffrath, which is new to professional cycling. The recruitment of young riders for the ProTour team is based on two principles. On the one hand, promising talents are promoted and developed in the MILRAM Continental Team. On the other hand, Schaffrath is also taking a look at U23 riders of other teams. The scouting-system is part of the "new way of cycling" the management of Team MILRAM is striving to attain. This way intends to introduce innovative and effective methods, which are already common to other sports, to cycling. The scouting-system makes sure that contact and trust between the young talents and the professional team is established and strengthened as early as possible.

What is Erik Zabel’s speed in the sprint on the final 150 meters?
The speed in the races’ final sprits is not always measured. This could only be possible by installing measuring points. The maximum speed in the final sprint is about 75 km/h.

Matthias S. from Königswinter asks Erik Zabel: What do you think about Rolf Aldag and T-Mobile? Are you glad that he is again taking his influence upon cycling in Germany, and that you will be able to meet him more often soon?
Rolf never really disappeared from cycling. He has only taken his leave as a T-Mobile rider in April. Meanwhile, he has worked a lot as a commentator for TV, and therefore visited quite a lot of races. So now we will be seeing him as often as we did before.

Klaus L. asks Team MILRAM: How is Alessandro Petacchi? When will he return to the races?
After Alessandro Petacchi broke his knee-cab in a fall during the second stage of the Giro d’Italia, the Italian now returns to the races. He plans to start at Rund um die Hainleite on 12th August and at the Sparkassen-Giro in Bochum the day after. Apart from that, the Regio Tour from 16th to 20th August is on the 32 year-old’s schedule. However, there is still a question mark behind Petacchi’s racing programme. He has only begun to practice on 6th July and since then has been working hard to prepare his comeback after his knee injury. Furthermore, Alessandro Petacchi intends to start at the Vuelta Espana and to test his condition for this during the Regio Tour.
