Thomas Welti from Abensberg asks: How does Erik Zabel communicate with his pacemaker in a derny-race. Are the tactics determined before the race?
At a derny-race, the rider and his pacemaker discuss the race in the forefront. Here, the basic tactics are established as well. So the pacemaker knows how to approach the race. Furthermore, short acclamations are arranged before the start, which help the rider and pacemaker to communicate on the track. So, the rider can signalise the pacemaker wheter to speed up or slow down. This is one of the reasons why the teams in derny-races are often well-rehearsed.

Matthias Häfliger from Switzerland asks Team MILRAM: What's the day of a physio at the Tour de France like?
A physio's day at the Tour de France begins early. Getting up is at seven in the morning, for the physios are in charge of the pros' feeding on the course. So first of all, food and drink are prepared and filled into cool bags and feeding bags. After that, everything is loaded - one part in the sport director's car, who supplies the pros on the course. The rest into the physios' car. After the start, they follow the pros on the course, to the feeding zone. Here, it is their job to hand the feeding bags to the passing riders. From there, it goes to the finish area, where the physios provide the pros with food, drink, towels and warm clothes after their arrival. In the evening, in the hotel, the physios are in charge of the riders' muscles. They do the daily massages and make the legs ready for the next day. Ruben Korr asks Christian Knees: What is the geometry of your bike's frame?
Christian Knees: "I used to ride with frams that were one size smaller. This I compensated with spacers (used to adjust the fork to the ideal position). Now, my frame is adjusted to my size. When I came to Team MILRAM, I was completely measured by Ernesto Colnago and a corresponding frame was built for me. But I don't have any frame geometry that suits me especially. I personally take what's given to me."
