Pssst! The latest insider news: Enrico Poitschke talks about the Niedersachsen-Tour

30/04/2024

Dear Team MILRAM fans,

this was a really good cycling week. The first tour through Germany, there the motivation is especially high of course. So many of our fans were here, for our sponsor is at home at the Niedersachsen-Tour. We had resolved a lot for the tour because of this, and now I can say that everything worked out fine. For me personally as well. I had good legs and worked a lot. We achieved the results we intended to, so we’re absolutely contented at the moment. Then there was the great weather – that’s half the battle anyway. And then a great race, that makes you feel good. Actually I can’t say anything negative about this week. Ok, we did 100 per cent of the work here, and that cost us a lot of power.

In the hotel I shared my room with Ete once again. This is always very unproblematic, we get along very well and we never get in the way of each other. Neither with the TV-programme nor with anything else. By the way, we have equal rights regarding the TV-programme. We have the same taste anyway, so none of us is in disadvantage, neither Erik nor me. In the evenings we generally watch films that run on TV. In the afternoon we watch ARD or ZDF – just what’s on at this time of day. And who’s tired first in the evening says ‚ok, will we go to bed’, and we go to bed. So there aren’t any problems, nobody wants to stay up longer or something like that. Everything works out fine. The one thing that was a bit negative was that we didn’t have a TV in Melle. So it was a bit boring in the evening. I wanted to connect my computer to the internet, but this didn’t work as well. So a few of us met for a little walk through the streets of Melle. Just to roam about for a while, digest the dinner and tell some cycling tales.

In the morning Erik generally gets up a bit earlier than I do. But that’s no problem, he is always very quiet. We don’t talk a lot in the morning anyway. We’re both rather quiet then. Shutting ourselves away so to say. So everything works out great. Lastly I shared my room with Erik quite often, but the whole team gets along very well. Ok, there are some language difficulties with the Italians sometimes, but alltogether everything is fine in the team.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing my family again. My son and my wife are going to come to Frankfurt to watch the race. Then we’ll drive home together and have a nice evening. We’ll see, maybe we have something to celebrate then, I really hope so. The next days I’m maybe going to reduce cycling to an hour’s training a day, have the one or other ice cream with my family, start the next days relaxedly and forget the racing turbulences of the last weeks.

Greetings to all Team MILRAM fans,

Enrico
