Pssst! The latest insider news: Sebastian Siedler about the season’s first ProTour race, Paris – Niece.
22/03/2024
Dear Team MILRAM fans,
on Sunday, the season’s first ProTour race, Paris – Niece, ended. It was a very, very difficult race, but with my second rank in the first stage I could celebrate a good success. This stage was really hard as well. The course went uphill and in the final sprint it really hurt. However, you’re always glad about such a position of course.
We had great weather all the time, which however wasn’t that good for me. I had problems with hay fever, my nose was stuffed all the time. I always had to breathe through the mouth and contracted an infection in my throat. This is why my doctor and me decided that it would make more sense not to start on the last stage. This however wasn’t too bad, because the course was unfavourable for sprinters anyway.
Now I’m at home since Sunday, and I exercised a little calmer in the last days. Next weekend the Belgian races are on my schedule. On 31 March I’ll start at Harelbeke. So I have one more week to intensively prepare for these races.
My goal for the next time is to do well in the classics and semi-classics in spring. Of course I’d prefer to win one of the races. At least I want to ride into the front and get the one or other top three position.
So keep your fingers crossed for me and the team for the coming races, who knows, maybe it’ll work out.
Regards, Sebastian
