Team MILRAM at Tour de Romandie

In the francophone part of Switzerland the ProTour continues with the Tour de Romandie (1 to 6 May). A prologue and five stages over 667.1 kilometers lead the peloton around the Lac de Neuchatel. The tour starts on Tuesday with a prologue over 3.5 kilometers and ends on Sunday with an individual time trial over 20.4 kilometers in Lausanne.
Team MILRAM starts the race optimistically. Last year Sergio Ghisalberti finished ninth of the overall classification. "We'll try to repeat it this year, when Sergio Ghisalberti has overcome his back problems," sport director Vittorio Algeri says. But he also knows that it won't be easy. Every stage is peppered with some climbs, even the individual time trial is selective again. "That's a hard tour," Algeri knows.
Fabio Sacchi is in the selection for the Tour de Romandie. In a crash at Ghent - Wevelgem he contracted several severe contusions and wants to improve his condition now. "The race is very important for riders like Fabio Sacchi to test their condition," Algeri, who uses the tour to build up his condition, says. The tour is very important, especially with regards to the Giro d'Italia, which starts a week later.
