Linus Gerdemann rides his way to eighth place overall

MILRAM captain Linus Gerdemann used a good performance in the time trial of the Vuelta a Andalucia (February 21-25 / UCI 2.1) to move up ninth place overall. He needed only 13:37 minutes for the 10.9 kilometer long course with start and finish in Malaga, finishing in 11th place in the same time as his teammate Christian Knees. Fastest on the penultimate stage was Alex Rasmussen (Saxo Bank). The Dane rode the course in 12.59 mintues and beat time trial specialist Bradley Wiggins (Team Sky/ 13:04) and Tony Martin (HTC-Columbia/ 13:06).

„That was a very satisfactory result for this time of year,“ said Linus Gerdemann after the time trial. „Of courese it is too bad that the crash in the first stage threw me so far back. Otherwise I would probably be in a better position now. But I can still be satisfied with ninth place overall.“

In the overall ranking, Australian Michael Rogers (HTC-Columbia) took the lead. Second place went to Belgian Jurgen Van den Broeck (Omega Pharma-Lotto), 19 seconds down. Thirty seconds behind Rogers in third place is Sergio Pardilla (Carmiooro-NGC). MILRAM captain Linus Gerdemann goes into the closing stage over 161 kilometers from Torrox Costa to Antequera as ninth overall, 46 seconds down.
